About
Hello there! I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by this site!
My name is Michele Workman and for those who know me, know I love God
and love people. Over the last 20 years, I have been blessed with the
opportunity to share the Gospel around the world. Using the platform of
sports, I have worked with young professionals, college students,
high school students and children. Although I have worn many hats
throughout the years, using sports to encourage others to know God
has been a very effective tool in bridging the gap to reach this generation for Christ. This will always be apart of my life's work.

Everyone Is Welcome.
"I have had incredible opportunities to travel and share the Gospel, serve on various projects to help those in need, teach young people sport skills and encourage others to live for Jesus. I'm so grateful. Much of this has come my way via sports but truly, it is because of His goodness and plans He's ordered for my life.
I have an opportunity to go to South Africa for a 3-month leadership training (more details below). While in South Africa, I am looking forward to learning and to contributing more in the realm of sports, fitness and other avenues beyond the completion of this incredible program.
With all of this said, I understand the greatest privilege I will ever have besides knowing Jesus, my family and friends, is being able to play a small part in helping someone else in the world understand that Jesus loves them and they too belong in the same loving family...the family of God."

South Africa Opportunity
Have you ever felt like something amazing just "found you" when you weren't looking for it? I had this happen to me very recently! I have an opportunity that I would like to share with you and it is of the kind I haven't personally experienced in over 15 years! Several weeks ago, I was nominated to attend a sports leadership training that is designed to
help anyone involved in sports, health or fitness. Here, I will join 23 other leaders
representing 18 countries. We will learn from sports leaders from all over the world new insights and ways on how to be effective in operations, training, networking and forming partnerships.
Truthfully, the nomination was completely an unexpected but a welcomed surprise. I was very honored and a few days later, I decided to pursue the application process. I was later told that I had been accepted to attend and after much prayer, I have decided to accept their invitation! To add to the excitement, I made the decision to go to this training only a couple of weeks ago
and well...
the deadline for all preparations is July 1st, 2019! (Update: see next page!)
As you can see, I have very little time and there is a lot that has to be done!
All I can say is WOW.
WOW that I was selected among several applicants.
WOW that this opportunity "found me" because God sent it.
WOW that it starts July 1st, 2019.
WOW that it is for 3 months in South Africa.
WOW that I am already getting stretched through this expedited preparation process.
WOW to this entire opportunity and all that I will learn from it.
WOW for all of the things to come because of it!

Fundraising for South Africa
There is an old African Proverb that states, "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." How very true. I have realized that no matter the size of the goal or the distance of the journey, a team who works together will always go farther.
As is true with any team or partnership, everyone plays an important role. Each contributor is ultimately credited for the team's successes.
I am reminded of a scripture that reflects this principle found in 1 Corinthians 3:6 when Paul writes, "I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase."
This is seen throughout life, isn't it? We plant and we water. We go and we send. That is
ours to do in life but God causes the growth and blesses our faith-filled efforts
in accordance with His will. Your prayers and financial contributions will go
toward the sports leadership training and ultimately towards impacting those lives within my reach and spheres of influence.
The cost for this sport leadership training in South Africa is $12,500.00 for a 3 month duration. That is approximately $4167.00 per month which covers lodging, food, materials,
airfare, medical and miscellaneous costs.
The deadline for this amount as well as all other preparation is July 1st, 2019.
UPDATE: We are nearly there! Read our updates on next page!
I look forward to implementing the many things I will learn in South Africa once I return.
This includes forming new partnerships in the sports and fitness arenas.

Involvement
I have been involved with international sports ministry, basketball academy and training, church planting and women, children's and college campus ministries for the last 20 years and counting. God has opened doors throughout my life utilizing my gifts and talents in sports.
My dream was to play basketball for a university and I am so honored that dream came true.
I played basketball for the University of Oklahoma (OU). I was also fortunate to
play a season as a professional player in the Southwest Basketball League.
Sports were such a huge part of my life as a young person. I understand first hand the various roles they can play in a person's life including increasing the level of confidence and skill as well as character development. They also help teach young people how to form a good work ethic and promote health. God certainly has blessed us with the fun and creative play of sports!
I also have passion for health and wellness and to encourage others to become totally fit in their body, minds, soul and spirits. Currently, I help train women to get physically fit and encourage them to make healthy food choices for themselves and their families. It is definitely a process and very rewarding. It is because of these things that I look forward to learning
many things from this training which I will apply to helping others in the
areas of sports and fitness.
